Mezuzahs

We are here to assist with all your mezuzah needs—including provision, installation, checking, and education. Whether you're setting up a new home, updating your mezuzahs, or learning for the first time, we’re here to help.

What is a mezuzah?

A mezuzah is a Parchment scroll that has been written by a professional scribe, usually in Israel. It contains two portions of the Torah that discuss the Jewish Faith. Every mezuzah, no matter how simple or elaborate the exterior casing may be, contains the exact same inscription, the Shema Yisrael: "Hear o' Israel, the Lord Our God, the Lord is One."

It is traditionally attached to the doorposts of a Jewish home. Maimonides writes that the mezuzah reminds us of the presence and the Unity of G‑d, arousing us to remember and love G‑d and follow His path. A ‘kosher’ mezuzah also brings protection and blessing - whether you are home or away.

🕍 Mezuzah Provision & Installation

We offer kosher mezuzahs, sometimes at subsidized rates, especially for students or those in need.

  • Free mezuzahs available for college students—with delivery right to your dorm.
  • We provide mezuzahs at no cost to individuals or families who cannot afford them.
  • Need help installing? We’ll gladly come to your home or office to affix it properly.

Everyone deserves access to a kosher mezuzah, and we’re here to make that happen.

🛠️ Mezuzah Checking & Maintenance

It’s customary to have your mezuzahs checked twice every seven years to ensure the scroll remains kosher and intact.

  • Our rabbi or trained representative can check, repair, or replace scrolls as needed.
  • We offer door-to-door service—we'll collect, inspect, and reaffix them for you.

🙏 Blessings & Placement Guidance

When affixing a mezuzah, this blessing is recited:

Blessed are You, L-rd our G‑d, King of the universe, who has sanctified us with His commandments and commanded us to affix a mezuzah.

Not sure where or how to place your mezuzah? We can guide you.

Mezuzahs are typically placed on the right doorpost, at the bottom of the top third of the doorway, and at a slight angle.
