Why Now?
The Month of Elul (and Why It Matters):
Elul, the sacred month leading up to Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur, is a time of deep introspection, teshuvah (return), and spiritual renewal. It’s when the gates of heaven are open, and the Divine presence feels closest. There’s no better time to lovingly face the lingering hurts, resentments, and self-blame before the high holy days of atonement.
The Forgiveness Lab uniquely harnesses this cosmic energy, guiding you through a gentle yet powerful process of healing just in time to enter Yom Kippur with a heart that’s light, open, and pure.
Because forgiveness isn’t forgetting, it’s remembering who you are.
It’s time to stop dragging the past behind you and start walking free.
Limited spots available.
Come with your story. Leave with your soul a little lighter.
Overview:
Each week, you will receive a pre-recorded class and come together for an embodied, emotional, and discussion-based experience. We'll dive deep, but safely, into the parts of ourselves that are still carrying the story of hurt, resentment, confusion, or betrayal.
Class 1: "I Don’t Want Someone Else’s Life"
Letting Go of the Victim Narrative
In Class 1 of The Forgiveness Lab, Rabbi Yisroel Bernath will explore how resentment quietly convinces you that someone else is in charge of your destiny. Drawing on the story of Joseph and teachings from Kabbalah, you will learn that true forgiveness isn’t about excusing the harm, it’s about reclaiming G-d as the sole Author of your life. When you live stuck in blame, you hand over the pen. Forgiveness is taking it back.
This class will you help you reconnect with the part of yourself that is whole, wise, and ready to move forward. Because your story is too sacred to let someone else write the ending.
Class 2: "Let Go or Get Dragged"
From Re-Sent-ment to Re-Alignment
In Class 2 of The Forgiveness Lab, we dive into the nature of resentment, re-sent-ment, literally the act of feeling something again and again. Rabbi Yisroel Bernath will guide you in understanding the difference between pain, which is inevitable, and suffering, which you often rehearse long after the event has passed. Rooted in both Kabbalah and modern emotional wisdom, this class gently reveals how holding onto past hurt keeps us stuck in cycles that were never meant to define you.
You will be invited to see how the body stores unresolved emotional pain and how to begin releasing it. You will meet the part of yourself that keeps replaying the story and uncover what it’s truly trying to protect. Through journaling prompts and breathwork, you will begin to soften the grip of old wounds and open to a life of greater presence, calm, and compassion. This class is your invitation to stop being dragged by yesterday and start living today.
Class 3: "Boundaries Without Bitterness"
How to Forgive Without Becoming a Doormat
In Class 3 of The Forgiveness Lab, Rabbi Yisroel Bernath challenges the myth that forgiveness means becoming a doormat. This class is about strength, not spite. You will be invited to reframe and learn how to set healthy, loving boundaries without needing anger as your armor.
With teachings from Kabbalah and real-world emotional tools, Rabbi Bernath will teach that protecting our space doesn’t have to come at the cost of our soul’s peace.
Through practical exercises like “I” statements, role-play scripts, and specific cues for recognizing safety and discomfort, you’ll learn to say no with clarity and yes to your dignity.
You may explore the parts of yourself that confuse boundaries with rejection or fear of abandonment and begin reparenting those parts with compassion. Because you can be kind and firm. Forgiving and clear. And you can walk away when needed and without walking away from yourself.
Class 4: "The One You Have to Forgive is... You"
Compassion for the Self That Couldn’t Let Go
In the final class of The Forgiveness Lab, Rabbi Yisroel Bernath will guide you through the most tender and often most difficult act of forgiveness: self-forgiveness.
Do you carry shame, regret, and inner criticism? Drawing on Kabbalitic teachings, the Rebbe’s guidance, and therapeutic insights, you will learn how to stop identifying with your past mistakes and start connecting to your eternal soul, the part of you G-d never stops believing in.
Through journaling, bedtime Shema rituals, and self-compassion practices, you may begin to soften the voice of the inner critic and meet the part of yourself that still feels undeserving of love. You may locate and gently unburden the parts of yourself still holding guilt, fear, or unworthiness. This class is about remembering that G-d has already forgiven you and it’s time to catch up. Because the final frontier of healing is not letting others off the hook. It’s letting you off the hook.
