Eicha by Candlelight
A Multi-Sensory Tisha B’Av Experience
Saturday Night, August 2 | 9:30PM | Chabad NDG + Online
Tisha B’Av is not just a date on the calendar. It’s the ache of 2,000 years wrapped in silence, in song, in memory. It’s the heartbreak of Jerusalem, of our story, of a people still yearning.
Join us for a deeply moving and immersive experience as we read Megillat Eicha (Lamentations) by candlelight, surrounded by community, stillness, and stories that stretch across generations. We'll weave together ancient texts, personal reflections, and timeless Chassidic insights all in an atmosphere designed to touch the soul.
Please bring a candle (preferably in a glass jar) to light during the reading.
Optional: Come with a story, something personal or from our tradition about Jerusalem or longing or resilience. You don’t need to share it, just hold it in your heart. Or maybe you will feel called to speak.
The evening is free and open to all.
You are strongly encouraged to join in person, this is one of those moments that’s best experienced together, in the quiet, flickering glow of shared grief and hope.
(Online option available for those who can't attend, though remote participants won't be able to share stories.)
Let’s sit together in the darkness... and maybe, just maybe, feel the first sparks of rebuilding.
Wishing you a safe and meaningful fast.
With love and longing,
